BIG BIG news. I sent our CD to the National Business Channel CNBC as a long shot. One of the songs on the new CD was inspired by the meaning of the word Squawk Box which is a show I have watched religiously since I was about 19 and they are supposed to air the song on National T.V. sometime this week. I will keep you posted. Pretty exciting stuff. See you in December.

Had a great show last night at O'Gara's. We debuted a new song I think we all can relate to called "At the End of the Money." It is an energetic song with some jamming between me and Sean. Sean did his first drum solo and the crowd went nuts. Hope to see you all at future shows. Keep spreading the word.

March 1st, 2007
Have some shows coming up in March in April. We are going to be going into the studio in March to re-record "Up down Sideways" with Sean's friend Diesel. Many of you have seen Diesel perform at some shows. He is an unbelievable Hip Hop Christian Rapper with some skills. Looking forward to getting the re-mix out to you all in April. We also are going to be recording some new songs as well. Look forward to seeing you all at some shows coming up.

January 2007
2006 was a great year despite being unemployed the first half of the year. I went solo in May with my friend and drummer of all drummers Mr. Sean W and we put out our Debut CD called "Up Down Sideways." I am very proud of this CD and looking forward to making many more of them. We have been writing a lot of new songs and have been testing them out at LIVE shows. Hope to see many of you out at some shows in 2007. I will be playing a lot at The Target Center for the Wolves games. It might not be the main stage, but at least I can say I have played the Target Center. Going on a cruise called "The Rock Boat" next week with Collective Soul, Better than Ezra, Emerson Hart from Tonic, so I am sure I will have some pictures posted up on my myspace with me and some of my favorite bands. See you all soon.

September 10th, 2006
Been working on yet another new song. This is a song I wrote about 5 years ago that I brought back from the dead. It is a song about that someone you may know that is always negative, always finding something to complain about. The song is called “Squawkbox” The second verse tells a bit of the story with the lyrics, “Say goodbye to your querulous expression/ Life is better on the other side, do you know what you’re missing/ Why do you insist on bringing everyone down?/ Do you just love the attention of being in the foreground?” I knew when I finished this song, Sean(S.W. Stomp) would have a killer beat in mind and the first time I played it at G-ma’s(our practice space in grandma’s basement) we landed on the perfect blend of tempo and energy. We will be working on this one over the next couple weeks to bring it to you live in October.

September 3rd, 2006
Just passed over 15,000 friends on MySpace and over 25,000 plays since June of 2006. This is a milestone for a local band and the MySpace reviews and comments have been nothing but positive. Check the myspace link for more info.

August 29th, 2006
Been working on a new ballad of sorts. It is a song called “Break me” and was written as a message to anyone I am involved with. Thru pain and hurt over the years, we can all become closed off and put up a wall and the message of the song is that if your going to get close to me, your first going to have to break me down. The pre-chorus lyrics “Hope is slowly leaving, love has lost it’s meaning, and I’m broken in two, I’m broken in two/ So if your going to try to fix what’s left of me, your first going to have to, your first going to have/ Break me, break me down…” sums it up. Looking forward to adding this song to the set in October

August 12th, 2006
Watched the news for the first time in awhile. Just got back from Colorado where I saw David Gray perform at the Red Rocks. If I could just play one song on that stage, my work would be done. After watching the news and staring at a cover of TIME magazine, I wrote my first controversial song about the media, called “The Whirlwind.” The song opens with the lyrics “It’s a tidal wave of events, an impending flood of reports, a place where the truth gets bent, I place where it all distorts/ The news at six and 10, nothing new again, the front page headline crafted by design, to rob you blind of your precious time/ Welcome to The Whirlwind”…… Come out to a show to hear the rest.

July 29, 2006
What is a World Killer?- "A World Killer"- 1. An event causing a reversal in feelings. 2. A flaw or issue to big to overcome. 3. A Seinfeld quality in all of us. 4. An irrevocable turn-off.
This song was written from ideas generated over the last 5 years of failed relationships. The third verse says it all, “Flaws everywhere are signaling, the obvious from the mystery, issues out in the open, feeling dumb for even hoping.” Check out the myspace link for the rest of the lyrics or just come out to a show to hear the rest of the story.

MURGE NEWS

Friday, May 19th

Friends and fans,
After 3 years of being together as a band, we have decided to put things to rest. It has been a great journey and we had a great time writing and playing together. When you have a group of musicians with different musical tastes and musical backgrounds someone is bound to eventually not be happy with the direction the music is going. It's funny, I felt like we were finally coming into our own after 3 years and finding our sound. Most bands don't stay together long enough to fine tune their sound. I am sad to report this news and we will miss seeing your faces in the crowd. We are planning a final Murge show where you will be able to hear us for the last time, so stay tuned. Thank you to everyone that made Murge a success along the way.
I will be doing a solo acoustic project, so keep your eyes open for solo acoustic shows. In fact, I will be playing Monday, June 12th at The Fine Line Music Cafe at 8:00. Thanks again for all your support and keep supporting your local music scene.
